Climbing for a Cause II

Introduction

Friends-Together is excited to announce we are going back to Africa for our “Climbing For A Cause II”. This trip will include a 5-day memorial climb of Mt Killimanjaro to remember Steve Pickett, who was not only my husband but the cofounder of Friends-Together. Steve was a killed in a car accident last year. He was the only volunteer to reach the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on our last trip.   A group of devoted volunteers will be embarking for Africa in June to promote HIV/AIDS education and prevention and explore the wonders of Africa. During the adventure we will be traveling across Tanzania and Kenya visiting villages and communities working with humanitarian organizations to distribute medical supplies and education.

Volunteers must pay for all of their own expenses and raise a minimum of $5000 in donations for Friends-Together which must be submitted before departing.  We are seeking corporate sponsors to make this event a huge success.

Friends-Together works with children and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to empower and educate these families and help each of them get a plan to live. Our organization also conducts educational classes for schools, colleges, civic organizations, churches and medical providers across the country.

We are a volunteer organization that has been recognized nationally by PEOPLE magazine, the US Jaycees, the National Pediatric Nursing Association and by the President's Point of Light award.

We have included in this package information about our organization, some of our volunteers and how you can be a part of this event.

Thanking you in advance for your help.
