An Open Invitation to All
Friends-Together and
Florida Southern College
will be hosting our 9th World AIDS Day Celebration,
on December 1, 2008.
Our theme this year is "Stop
AIDS Keep the Promise.....Today is World AIDS Day What Are You Doing
About it Tomorrow.
This years events are as follows:
From 9 AM
until 2 PM Friends-Together and the Polk County Health Department
will be offering free HIV testing at the FSC Wellness Center. We will be
having a block party style event, with free massages, food, music and
information. (If any school or community organization would like to be
involved and have information at a table they would be welcome to contact me
at this address to arrange a table.)
At 5:15
there will be a free pasta dinner sponsored by Primo's Pizzareia. They have
kindly donated dinner for 100 if you plan to attend please RSVP, Ketia
Harris at
Kharris@flsouthern.edu and
place WAD in the subject line. We are asking people if they are able to
please bring a Christmas gift donation for our Friends-Together gift drive,
it can be a gift of a new item, gift card or monetary donation.
The night program will be held at
7 PM in the Honeymoon
Pavilion. That is the atrium of Branscomb auditorium. It is located at the
corner of Lake Hollingsworth and Johnson Street. The event will be a
celebration of life featuring community participants, FSC students
and Friends-Together Family members speaking. If you would like to
